A refreshed Land Rovers team recovered from the long holiday lay off with a comprehensive thrashing of Brookers today 13 - 0. "I think what was satisfying abut that win was we weren't at our best and yet we knocked in thirteen goals whilst keeping a clean sheet" said Land Rovers Manager Steve Hall. Brookers never looked competitive even before the game but there was always a danger Rovers wouldn't fire in the humid conditions. "Any fears we had were allayed early on when we scored two or three in the opening minutes" said Hall "and Eddie and Ben mopped up any incursions into our half". As the game wore on Brookers dropped deeper and deeper into their own half to try and contain the Rovers attack. "They dropped back and had two players marking me most of the time" said Hall "but this left huge gaps in behind for Ben (pictured) to take pot shots at their goal". Hall said it was like a rifle range in the last three or four minutes and the last goal was a stunner as White knocked one in from half way. "A good opener for Rovers" said Hall "and Ben White must have got some new shooting boots for Christmas".
Final Score: Rovers 13 Brookers 0
